Brief Curriculum Vitae



Cesare Cesarini attended the Art Institute in Bologna, where he lives and works.

His career began in 1962, when he was noted by Francesco Arcangeli.

He holds personal exhibitions and participates to other exhibitions in Milan, Bologna, etc. He is awarded prizes and special mentions.

Some of his works are part of permanent exhibitions at the Boston University and of public and private collections in Italy and the US.

On behalf of the Academy of Science and the University of Bologna, he prepares boards and ad-hoc works. He publishes his illustrations on the newspaper "La Repubblica".

Cesare holds several personal exhibitions, among others: "Une saison en enfer" to celebrate Arthur Rimbaud’s poetry, "Il gioco con la paura" on the gothic romance and new horror which involved the participation of Umberto Eco, Guido Fink and Giovanna Franci.

In June 2000, he inaugurates in Palazzo Isolani in Bologna his personal exhibition "Arte e Moda", on the cross-fertilization between art and fashion. The exhibition was supported by speeches held by Danilo Eccher, director of the Modern Art Gallery of Bologna, and by Guido Vergani, Roberto Grandi and Giovanna Franci.

In December 2001, Cesare inaugurates at the Instituto Italiano di Cultura of Stockholm his personal exhibition "The Wings of Fashion", sponsored among others by the Italian Embassy in Stockholm.

In May 2003, at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Los Angeles, he presents his latest works "Vulnerable White hangers 2003" to conclude the review "Art and Fashion Design: Cross-Fertilization".

In September 2009, at the Urban Centre at the Salaborsa in Bologna, Cesare held the personal exhibition "Segni della Memoria". This project has been run in partnership with Laboratorio di Ricerca sulle Città (Obersvatory of metropolitan research).
